Speech Writing: How To Write A Good One?
Published by: barbara on Wednesday 18th November 2009 07:11am
Speech
writing is in lots of ways similar writing a paper,
apart from that there is no penalty for spelling and punctuation
mistakes. You should not try to write words in your speech that you
are not relaxed pronouncing or don't know the meaning of because it
can lead to a less fluently delivered speech.
To be able to write a high-quality speech is a lot like making a good cake. Having the right elements is key for it's success. Every speech writer should follow these simple 4 steps to confirm you can deliver a successful speech.
Step 1
Start with the most significant idea/point on your outline. Consider HOW you can give details (show, tell) to your listeners in the most effective way for them to easily understand it. Ask yourself: ? How do I need to tailor my information to meet Joe's needs? For example, do you tell personal stories illustrating your main points? This is a very powerful technique.
Step 2
Note down what you'd say as if you were talking directly to them. If it helps, say everything out loud before you write and/or use a recorder. After you've finished, take notes. You do not have to write absolutely everything you're going to say but you do need to write the series of ideas to guarantee they are rational and easily pursued. Bear in mind too, to explain or exemplify your point from your research.
Step 3
Check the 'tone' of your language. Is it right for the event, subject matter and your audience?
Check the length of your sentences. If they're too lengthy or complex you can lose your listeners.
Have you selected words everybody will understand? 'There are 5 cent words and $5.00 words. Why use a $5.00 one when a 5 cent one tells it better?' Example: He 'spat' = 5 cents. He 'expectorated' = $5.00 Read what you've written out loud. If it flows naturally carry on the process with your next main idea. If it doesn't, rework.
Step 4
Between each of your major ideas you have to to give a alleyway. This links them for your listeners. The clearer the path, the easier it is to make the switch from one idea to the next. If your speech contains more than three main ideas and each is building on the last, then consider using a 'catch-up' or summary as part of your transitions.
If you are in a real hurry you can also buy speech that is custom written according to your specifications and delivered in 24 hours.

father's day??
Published by: angel_dja on Sunday 21st June 2009 08:06am
I should happy because I still have a father and a mother.. Unlike
the other people.. But until now, I don't feel I am lucky for
having a father.. I know my life came from him.. He wanted me to
born in this world and let me know how beautiful the places. But he
teach me how to face the real world between those artificial things
here and everywhere.. Sometimes, I really feel jealous to other
family who have happy life.. Maybe you get angry with me for
feeling this.. But I really hate my father.. I start working at age
of nine because of him.. He's irresponsible father for all of us..
At that time I have a brother who suffer with the 'cerebral palsy'.
I can't help crying every time I see him that can't stand, can't
walk and it was so hard for him to talk. But my father just staying
with his other woman.. My mother always have a time-to-talk on him
and always told him 'what is our problem at that time'. But he's
not listening.. Although, he get back home once a month. Checking
with us if were still alive.. It's not helping for me to hate him..
My mother always remind me not to hate him because its not a good
attitude.. I tried so.. But I can't.. I worked for myself and go to
school. She said, I should continue my school even my father
doesn't want that idea. My mother work too and at the same time
taking care with my two brother and the three sister of my father
who live with us at that time.. At the days goes by.. I see many
faces of woman who live with my father.. I tried to ignore it.. But
I can't forget it.. My brother who was sick die at the age of 8.
And it was so sad because at that time my mother can't get home.
Because she's still working. My three auntie have a relationship
and live with their husband. So it was me and my other brother was
home.. I feel pity with my brother.. Cause he wait for whole day
before he get a simple burial. My father appear after three
nights.. Isn't that irresponsible? I thought that so also.. But its
not finish yet.. When I was in high school and still working at the
flower shop.. He said, that I have to share my salary on him and
stop going to school. He said its useless for me to go in school
because soon I get married to a man and those things that I learn
from school will be forgotten. I really don't believe that I will
get married very early. Because I see many relationship who just
broke after a long time of being them together.. I always told to
myself if I get married to someone.. I will surely my relationship
will last until forever.. And I don't want to get an irresponsible
man like him.. But I don't want to argue on him.. So I share my
salary and continue my school.. My manager said that he will give
me other work so I will have more payment.. I always walk for two
kilometers back and fort just to have an education. And do my
obligation when I get back home. Sometimes, I can't help crying in
school and tried to hide it to everyone.. Were already four at that
time, me, my brother jhun, yuri and grace. At the age of 18, I was
using my scholarship to go in college but still working. My mother
get pregnant again with joemar at that time. And I didn't know it
yet. I remember he hurt my mother in front of many people. I caught
him punching her and no one wanted to help my mother.. I tried to
cover myself to protect my mother. I thought I will die but still
here I am.. (laughing sarcasm).. I keep saying to my mother to
separate him.. But she cry and told me that she can't do that.. My
father leave us and forget us without saying words.. And every
thing just turn down for all of us too.. My mother suffering for
nervous breakdown.. I always caught her crying, drinking, and its
like the end of her world already. My brother jhun always in
trouble too.. He join in fraternity, and I always find myself
infront of someone's mother saying many times of sorry. I even
kneel down on them. Begging to forgive my brother.. But my brother
always says that I don't need to be nice to everyone. I do
understand why he act like that. And I do understand why my mother
act like her worlds fall down. I try to be a second mother and send
my mother to hospital. I don't want my soon brother will be
affected for what happen on her. I carry all the obligation that
supposed my father do. I get three jobs just to earn money and at
the same time go to school for four hours. washing clothes, flower
shop, and the typing job.. My friends cry for my situation. But I
told them nothing to worry about me. Because I was born survivor.
And everything will be alright, as long as my bro and sis will here
with me.. But when my mother born Joemar.. I have to stop school
and have to pay hospital. Because at that time she was in critical.
I see my father came home. It feels like my heart jumping. Feels
happy to see him and thought maybe he choose us than he's new
woman. But hell no.. He just back, just to get he's few things that
left in house. He don't even look for what he's new son look-like.
He don't even ask 'if how's my mother is?' He don't even ask if I
was alright? And not even ask if my other brother and sister still
eating.. No hello, just go and goodbye..

Published by: Elisa on Tuesday 2nd June 2009 04:06am
sometimes, I think everything was not enough. And found out
that anything still not working.
.. It's like me.. I keep obliging to carry my family even when I was young. I thought its just an ordinary way of saving your family. But I feel that I'm kinda stack with one obligation that seems I can't out of here anymore.
I really feel irritated when I remember who's fault was these.
It's my father..
If he's not irresponsible for everything. I may not like this..
If he just being a good for us. Maybe I finish my school.
If he didn't choose another girl just for himself. Maybe I have a good life now.
If he is not demanding. Maybe my sister was in good way of life too.
If he was just there the times that we really need him. Maybe we're not like this.
Everytime I remember him. I really think that everything just happen because of his fault. Every day I wake up. I always wishing he will be out of my eyes forever. If its not my mother. I won't never wanted to see him!!

Siguro nga may tao
lang na likas ang kasamaan. Ang ikinaiinis ko pa.
Kahit na gumagawa na ako ng sarili kung buhay. Pilit
pa ring sumasakay ang tatay ko sa pag-angat ko. At
magiging ugnayan namin. Kahit na dugo pa ang dumaloy sa
aming katauhan.

The loyal wife
Published by: janet on Sunday 17th May 2009 09:05am
There was a man who had worked all of his life, had saved all of
his money, and was a real miser when it came to his money.
Just before he died, he said to his wife. "When I die, I want you to take all my money and put it in the casket with me. I want to take my money to the afterlife with me.
And so he got his wife to promise him with all of her heart that when he died, she would put all of the money in the casket with him.
Well, he died. He was stretched out in the casket, his wife was sitting there in black, and her friend was sitting next to her.
When they finished the ceremony, just before the undertakes got ready to close the casket, the wife said. "Wait just a minute!" She had a box her: she came over with the box and put it in the casket.
Then the undertakers locked the casket down. and they rolled it away.
So her friend said. "Girl, I know you weren't fool enough to put all that money in there with your husband."
The loyal wife replied, "Listen, I'm an honest loyal wife, I can't go back on my word. I promisde him that I was going to put that money in that casket with him!!!?"
"You mean to tell me you put that money in the casket with him?!!!"
"I sure did, "said the wife. "I got it all together, put it into my account and wrote him a check.. If he can cash it, he can spend it."

world most dangerous underground smuggler's tunnel
Published by: angel_dja on Monday 11th May 2009 03:05pm
Gaza's markets are seriously lacking in merchandise due to strict
Israeli restrictions on what the country may and may not import.
Goods are dropped into and received from the underground network
via elaborate pulley system.
Hundreds of Gaza merchants throng around the border area of Rafah
every day to pick up merchandise coming to Gaza from Egypt via
subterranean passages.
They are then carried down the lenght of the 1,000 metre
tunnels. The network operators have the ability to handle all
sorts of products including fuel, computers and clothes.
Underground livestock smuggling has increased dramatically
ahead of Eid Al-Adha, a day when Muslims the world over slaughter
animals and feed the poor to seek God's forgiveness. The
tunnels also ferry people who cannot leave or enter Gaza, but no
one may smuggle arms or drugs throught the tunnels.
After travelling through the underground tunnel, the frightened
cattle is sold, making a heavy profit for those who risk their
lives in the dangerous tunnels. Palestinian officials say at
least 45 workers have died this year because of cave-ins.
Hamas, which seized control of Gaza in 2007, see the tunnels as an act of defiance against Israel. They, therefore, endorse them and it is even claimed that taxes are imposed upon the underground routes.
